The Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship offers resources to all categories of entrepreneurs! The Trust Center also has a Creative Arts sector lead who is charged with assessing and improving the creative arts entrepreneurial ecosystem. You can reach the sector leads via creativearts at mit.edu with suggestions.
MIT's annual 15k Creative Arts Competition takes place every Spring! Enter your arts-focused startup for a chance to win $15,000 to help launch your venture. The Competition hosts a series of workshops and offers mentorship opportunities to provide support and growth opportunities for applicants and finalists. Among the qualifications for entry is the rule that each venture must have arts at the core of your company. Email creativeartsprize at mit.edu with any questions.
If you are currently working on a creative arts startup, you are eligible to apply to MIT's own student arts incubator, the /START Studio! Located in W20-429, the START Studio offers meeting space and prototyping tools. If you are accepted for membership, you are entitled to:
- Use of tools including 3D printer, plotting printer, etc.
- Access to reasonable funds for project materials
- Access to relevant advising from on-campus experts
- Workshops highlighting arts innovation and entrepreneurship
- Gateway to $15K Creative Arts Competition
- Availability to exhibit in the Wiesner Student Art Gallery
